Crowfoot Glacier in May
Situated above Bow Lake in the Southern Rockies, Crowfoot Glacier is named for the shape of its talons, one of which has melted in the past century or so.
When I passed it in the afternoon in late May, the weather was warm and sunny, but the lake was still covered with soft ice and snow.
To see what the glacier looks like when Bow lake is a gem of glacial-lake teal blue, look here.
