Mobile radar units

By the summer of 1940, the RAF had built a chain of radar stations along most of Britain’s coast. This new technology offered some warning of imminent air attacks during the Battle of Britain. Autogyros were used to adjust radar settings, because having rotors rather than wings meant they could fly in a tight circle.
