Novel research: Capture of an Enigma machine

An Enigma machine is captured in the Firth of Clyde, and this will greatly help the codebreakers about their work. Someone asks Rose about this but she has heard nothing. On the principle that “Loose lips sink ships,” information is strictly compartmentalized at Bletchley Park. Nobody is allowed even to look into a hut besides the one they work in.

At all hours, people arrive at the back entrance on motorcycles with documents. Many of them are girls. They ride in the dark from the listening Y stations all along the coast.

Once, Rose is asked to translate German documents with fresh blood on them. The pilot has just been shot down and captured. Fortunately, she’s told nothing more about the fate of the pilot.
